Ready to get your handstands to the next level?
In this class, you will learn techniques and skills to dial in that freestanding handstand, learn fantastic shapes, and get more time on your hands.
There are so many benefits of handstanding but today I will focus on bone health and breathing.
Bone Health:
- Handstands are weight-bearing; they strengthen your bones.
- When stacking our shoulders over our wrists, we are bone-stacking and relying on our muscles rather than our joints.
- Hand balancing also strengthens your spine, shoulders, arms, and wrists.
Fact:
Research shows that weight training increases bone mineral density and can help prevent and treat osteoporosis.
Breathing:
- To stay balanced, you must learn to breathe smoothly and find ease in inhaling and exhaling.
Handstands are a challenging yet fun skill with so many levels to keep you wanting to train again.
The way to improve your handstand practice is to put time on your hands. After mastering your straight-line handstand, then you can start working on transitioning to shapes.
Learn how to increase your time under tension so your body can adapt to strength and balance.
I teach my students to kick to straight line and other entries such as a tuck jump, straddle jump or pike jump.
These are some things we work on in our monthly handstand classes. Come learn how to build a solid foundation.
